The 2011 Chevrolet Volt is leading a new generation of electric vehicles hitting the market today. The Volt features a 350v 16kWh battery that enables the Volt to travel 40 miles before even touching it's built-in 1.4L ecotec engine powered generator. The generator is supplied by a 9 gallon fuel tank that extends the range of the Volt to about 360 miles between fill-ups.
